SPECIAL PROJECTS
What greater leaders can a nation have than those filled with the love of Jesus Christ and whose lives are examples of His love and mercy?
Everyone knows that the children of any nation are its leaders of tomorrow. And, we believe that God has given us this opportunity to make an eternal difference in the lives of the little ones we touch in Sudan and to raise them up to be the leaders of that country. Each year we prayerfully consider our most critical needs in terms of special projects. To continue to meet the needs of our children, we must expand our facilities. We work hard to be good stewards of Gods resources and we are committed to the growth of our children and the enhancement of our community. Our most critical needs for which we are seeking support include:
BET EMIN - HIS HOUSE OF HOPE
A Health Care Center for Women and Children in Yei, South Sudan
$719,822 Capital Budget
$45,783 Operating Budget Needs
Raised to date: $627,996 in cash and In-Kind Donations of
Medical Equipment and Supplies
Left to Raise: $137,609
Jesus focused on health and healing
throughout much of His earthly ministry. As
He healed, people pressed in to hear His
message of hope. Later, His disciples did
the same - they healed and immediately found
themselves with opportunities to tell many
people of the hope that is found in Jesus
(see Acts 3). Christ loved everyone, yet He
demonstrated a passion for the poor and
oppressed. Harvesters' ministry was called
to Sudan to care for orphans and that call
has always included the provision of medical
care for the orphans and others at our compound.
Yet the needs of the community around us are
great, and there are few services available.
We know that if we are to continue to be the
authentic body of Christ in this world, we
need to further facilitate health and
healing through our work. After much intentional
prayer and research, Harvesters' Board of
Trustees determined that we must continue
and expand our work in caring for the poor
and oppressed in our community by building
Bet Emin - His House of Hope, a health
care center that will serve the needs of
pregnant Sudanese women and children up to
18 years of age.
The mission for His House of Hope
is to spread the Gospel of
Jesus Christ through a ministry of health
care to women and children of South Sudan.
Our chief medical goals are to reduce
morbidity and mortality from preventable and
treatable disease, and to improve pregnancy
outcomes by providing antenatal, perinatal
and postnatal care.
His House of Hope is being built in
phases. Our initial focus will address women
and children's health care through community
health education, direct patient care and
public health interventions. The
longer-term vision includes a small, fully operational hospital
for children and adults that will provide
complete obstetrical and prenatal care,
surgeries, inpatient and outpatient
pediatric care, treatment of women's health
concerns, vaccine program, blindness
prevention program, and more expanded
community health outreach services and
education.
Tremendous work has been accomplished over
the last two years and we are now reaching a
critical stage in our fundraising efforts. Dr.
Perry and his family moved to South Sudan
in July 2011 to serve as our missionary Medical Director.
The Outpatient Wing of His House of Hope is scheduled to open in March 2012.
The Inpatient Wing will open in the summer of 2012. Additional phases will open later.
If you believe that God is leading you to join us
in this effort, whether through funding, prayer or
service, we would be honored to discuss this project
with you in more detail.

SOLOMON'S PROJECT
A Primary School in Terekeka, South Sudan
$565,850 Capital Budget
$80,000 2012 Goal
Solomon's Project will be a far-reaching
effort to build a Primary School in Terekeka, South Sudan. It will include classrooms, a library, an assembly hall, a teachers' dormitory and offices,
and a kitchen and dining hall.
Solomon was a truly noble man with a far-reaching intellect. When presented with the opportunity to have anything he wanted, he chose
wisdom in preference to riches or honor or long life (1 Kings 3:5-14). Like Solomon, our students seek wisdom, not only through knowledge
gained in their academics, but through their development as young men and women of Godly character. They are growing in their faith,
desiring to become wise leaders with discerning hearts. Building a Primary School near our orphanage in Terekeka will allow more children
to grow in this richness and wisdom.
Harvesters' school in Yei has many years of experience providing a well-rounded, Biblically-based curriculum to 500 students in grades Pre-K
through Primary 8. It has been recognized as one of the top schools in Yei County for many years. We offer academically challenging
courses in permanent building with trained teachers. Currently, our school in Terekeka is very limited and there are no permanent facilities.
The children and their teacher meet under the mango trees. Harvesters is in a unique position to reach out to and improve the educational
opportunities for the Mundari people in the Terekeka region of South Sudan. We have the in-house expertise and the local support to open a
school that will serve the community at large.
The land in Terekeka for our school has been donated by local officials. When fully built, the school will serve up to 350 children in grades
Pre-K through Primary 8. It will include ten classrooms, a teacher's office, a kitchen and dining hall, an assembly hall, a library, and a
dormitory for teachers. There will also be ancillary buildings and equipment including latrines, a borehole for water, fencing and a generator.
Phase One of our school will include four classrooms, teacher's dormitory, latrines, teacher's office, fence, books and supplies.
Our goal is to raise funds and begin construction of Phase One in 2012.
We hope that you will prayerfully consider becoming a part of our vision. You can help us make visible the Kingdom that is already among us.
We need your commitment to our ministry so that our work will "be like trees planted by streams of water which yield fruit in its season and leaves
that will not wither." Psalm 1:3

HANNAH FUND
$20,700 Budget for 2012 School Year
Harvesters' is embarking on a campaign to raise scholarship funds for 23 children to attend secondary school and university. Our school in Yei goes
through the Primary grades and our orphans have done very well academically. We believe they are on track to succeed at the next level, Secondary School,
and maybe even attend University. One of our orphans is already in University and we are so proud of him.
That is why we have established the Hannah Fund, to provide the necessary resources to ensure a quality education for our very deserving children.
The Bible shows that Hannah was a woman of prayer. By pouring out her heart to God, He filled her and met her desire for children. Like Hannah, we know
that the time comes when our children will grow up and need to leave our daily care. It is a time where we have to let them be what God has called them to be.
We know these children are a gift from God and it is our privilege to care, guide and train them for this next phase of their life.
We need to raise the funds to make this possible. Will you join us? We need to raise $20,700 to fund this education for 23 students this year. We ask you to prayerfully consider joining us in this effort. An investment in the Hannah Fund will create
a significant impact - one that is both immediate and eternal for these children. Your gift, no matter the size, is important and it is a wonderful opportunity
for us to work together for the full coming of God's Kingdom.
There are a variety of scholarship opportunities within our Hannah Fund:
-
$8,000 for one year of University (one needed)
-
$2,000 for one year of secondary boarding school (one needed)
-
$1,200 for one year of University (one needed)
-
$1,000 for one year of Technical School (one needed)
-
$500 for one year of Secondary School for a boy (15 needed)
-
