PRAY

There are many ways you can become involved with Harvesters. First, and foremost, pray for us. God has blessed and continues to bless this ministry in so many ways. With your prayers and support we know that we can continue to be His hands and feet to those we minister to.

This week's prayer requests:

  • The rainy season came early and hard, so we are having lots of difficulty with travel, especially between Yei and Terakeka. Please pray as we are adjusting to the rainy season.

  • We have thirteen babies in our formula feeding program. These babies either lost their mother in childbirth or the mother can't feed, and formula is their only source of nutrition. Please pray for funding to increase for this program so that more babies will have a chance at life.

  • During the rainy season, sickness is always prevalent, so we ask the Lord's hand on all of the orphans. Pray that they remain healthy and do not catch any serious illnesses.

  • All in all, we praise the Lord for the work He is doing! We have an exceptional team serving the Lord, and we are blessed to be a part of His kingdom!

Ongoing prayer requests:

  • Continued protection for our children and staff from the LRA
  • Wisdom for working with our local staff
  • Builders
  • A couple to come serve with us long-term

If you wish to join our prayer ministry and receive weekly updates, please send an email to Amy Aupperlee at prayer@hrtn.org.

SPONSOR A CHILD, A TEACHER, A WIDOW OR A CLASSROOM

Harvesters’ Fulfilling the Promise Campaign is a call to invest in the lives of those we serve in Sudan. As the Lord declares in Jeremiah 29:11, He plans to prosper us…and plans to give us hope and a future. That is OUR promise for those we serve…a hope and a future filled with the blessings of God’s kingdom. What an opportunity we have to make a difference in the lives of so many in one of Africa’s harshest places. For our orphans, we provide quality Christ-centered care until they are able to leave and adequately care for themselves. For our school children, we provide an outstanding Christian education that will impact lives for eternity. For our adults, we provide meaningful employment and a chance to develop new skills. For all, we provide instruction in evangelism and discipleship to impact their communities for Christ. We invite you to join our sponsorship program so that you can help fulfill our promise. Not only will you be making an investment in these children and adults, you will be making an investment in God’s kingdom.

"The Hannah Fund" has been established to provide a unique scholarship opportunity for individuals who want to support our older orphans who are attending boarding school in Uganda. $62 per month will provide for their tuition, room and board, incidental, and travel expenses for their high school education. This fund will also provide for future higher education for our very deserving students.

MISSION TRIPS

We always need short-term missionaries to join us in our work. We particularly need teams skilled in construction, medicine and dentistry. If you are interested in organizing a team – or know someone who is – please contact Amy Aupperlee at 214.440.1115 or amy.aupperlee@hrtn.org

In addition to short-term mission trips, Harvesters is looking for other individuals to join Dennis and Lilly in their ministry. We believe God is calling us to expand our reach throughout southern Sudan and other nations around the world.

Long term opportunities include:

  • A couple to serve long-term in the specific areas of expansion
  • English teacher
  • Nurses
  • Builders and construction professionals
  • Agriculturalists
Again, if you are interested – or know someone who is – please contact Amy as indicated above.
